Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon celebrated in Paris

His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon celebrated at St. Stephen Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Paris, upon the permission and blessing of His All Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

The Patriarchal Commissioner, His Grace Bishop of Erineos and His Grace Bishop Maximos of Melitene, were also present. After the end of the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence was addressed by the Patriarchal Commissioner, who made an extensive review of the pastoral service of Metropolitan Emmanuel as the Metropolitan of France for 18 years.

This was followed by speeches on behalf of Her Excellency the Ambassador of Greece to France Mrs Aglaia Balta and also from Mrs Seta Theodoridou, President of the Hellenic Community of Paris.

His Eminence expressed his gratitude to His All Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and to the Holy and Sacred Synod. He thanked everyone for their support during the years that the Church appointed him pastor of this Province of the Ecumenical Throne, he asked for their prayers for the continuation of his ministry in the Mother Church of Constantinople and advised everyone for their continuation of the church ministry in the blessed vineyard of France.
